Do you have a library card? September is National Library Card Sign-Up month. A library card might be the single most useful school supply you can get your child, so come in this month and sign up! We’ll also be replacing library cards for free this month (normally $1) so if yours is lost, come get a new shiny one today! A library card opens up a world of possibilities and encourages life-long learning. The library is all about access. Access to books for pleasure and for educational/informational purposes is just one of the many things we do. We also provide access to online databases where you can:
-Find instructions on how to fix your car (Auto Repair Source)
-Follow video tutorials to create cool craft and DIY projects (Creativebug)
-Learn a new language using your phone or any device (Transparent Language Online)
-Prepare yourself for an entrance/occupation or college admissions test (Badgerlink—Learning Express)
-Check out magazines from anywhere (rbDigital)
-Explore your next great read (NoveList)
These are just a few examples of the amazing information and entertainment resources we provide that are only possible if you sign up for a card.
Winter is long here in Wisconsin. If you’re looking for things to do next time the state shuts down because it’s too cold outside, get your library card today and you’ll be ready when the weather hits us.
